Dan Brown has donated € 300,000 to the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica to digitize and preserve part of its ancient collection. The library includes Hermetica, alchemy, mysticism, Rosicrucians and Kabbalah – and has been a resource for researching two of his novels, “The Lost Symbol” and “Inferno.”
The donation will be dedicated to providing the public with online access to the core collection of 4,600 ancient books in the near future.
“I consider it a great honor to play a role in this important preservation initiative that will make these texts available to the public,” said Brown.
Picturae, a company that specializes in making Dutch cultural heritage digitally accessible, will oversee the process, which is expected to be available by the spring of 2017.
