The Guardian connects Inferno to Florentine Tourism

In a recent article entitled, “Dan Brown’s Inferno: Florence hopes for a tourism miracle,” The Guardian UK discussed the connections between Dan Brown’s new novel and a rise in pilgrimages to Florence.

The article describes widespread enthusiasm for the resurgence in popularity that Dante Alighieri’s work is experiencing. As Paola Allegretti, one of Italy’s Dante Society experts put it, “Dante really wants us to find hidden meanings in his work. He had a great sense of humour and was deliberately vague to encourage mysteries. He would have loved Dan Brown.”
